The Christmas Crunch

I was not at all prepared for any of the holidays this year. Not in the slightest. Christmas will be no exception. Every year, I wait 'till the last minute to prepare my terribly extravagant christmas presents. I'm doing two big art projects this year for gifts, one of which is going to be especially challenging. I'm gonna try and stay relaxed and keep my expectations reasonable.
In addition to the presents, I've got a lot of other work to do, too. Boring, difficult work. Like intensive cleaning. To make matters worse, I'm only just now starting to recover from an icky cold I got last week. Not exactly feeling like intensive cleaning or ambitious art projects right now. But time continues to keep on ticking...
So, when I recover fully in a day or two, I'll be launching into mega overdrive. This means I won't be super active on DeviantArt for the rest of December. However, good news is, I'll be able to post those two art projects here when I'm finished with them! I'll be putting my heart and soul into them, so the end result should be something I can be proud of.
The first project is a special request, a purple hippo. I'll be painting it in watercolors (which I haven't used in forever...kinda scared...), and adding in some unexpected features. Oooo, mystery! The other project is a super special surprise, so I really can't say anything. But, like the purple hippo, it's going to be fun and crazy!
I wish I could make gifts like this for everyone I know, but I certainly can't this year. Maybe next year, I'll start planning in March!

Hi. I'm new here. I'm still getting acquainted with things, trying to gather all my art together so I can upload it here. I've been visiting DeviantArt for many years, but this is my first serious account as an artist.
I would tell you a funny story or something, but right now I'm hungry, and tired, and suffering from computer fatigue (...whatever that is), so I'm not going to write any more here. I just had to post something, because the blank journal page was buggin' me.
